Gainesville is expanding! That is great news for our residents but even better news for property investors. Butler Plaza Expansion*:
- 758,000 square feet will be added to Butler North
- 350,000 square feet will be added with the construction of Butler Town Center
- Flagship Stores: Walmart Supercenter and Sam’s Club to be a part of new area
Celebration Pointe*:
- This 1 million square foot mixed-use development will occupy 225 acres at the intersection of I-75 and Archer Road
- It will add a luxury theater, 1,000 residential units, a branded hotel, and 300,000 square feet of retail space
- Committed Lessees of space: Bass Pro Shop, Info Tech Headquarters, Indigo Hotel
- They started construction of bridge over I-75 to access the other side of Gainesville
- 100 acres will be set aside as a permanent conservation area
Envision Alachua (Plum Creek Plan)*:
- Plum Creek owns 65,000 acres making it the largest landowner in Alachua County
- The plan will create 30,000 jobs over the next 50 years especially manufacturing and agricultural related jobs
- Their plan will increase the tax base and help Alachua County’s economy compete globally
