The rental market has reached a 21-year high. In 2014 alone, 2 million renter-occupied households were added while at the same time owner-occupied households shrank by 350,000. Now 9 of the 11 most populous metro areas have more renter households than homeowners. As more renter households begin to form, what are they really like?
