As always, please feel free to call me if you need an estimate on the rental value of a particular property for your clients.

I attended Craig Grant?s Technology Toolbox For Realtors class this past week and found it to be one of THE MOST informative classes that I have attend in a long time. It was concise, full of so much good information and advice, technology tips, social networking, NAR services many are not aware of. I took four pages of notes knowing that I would also get a pdf of the slides sent to me. Thank you GACAR- Realtor Enrichment Committee for bringing that class to us!!!!! Here are a few snidbits of tips I liked:

Mercury pro– a web browser that displays the MLS site and many others on a tablet or phone in an easier to read and use format.

Carbonite– For around $5 per month it will auto backup your files and it is the site the government trusts an uses.

UPS Surge Protector– you can ask your utility company to put one on junction box to your home and it will protect the whole house for a very small amount (I think he said $5) per month. BTW- If you?re not plugging your laptop into one you risk losing your data one day!!

Broadbandmap.gov– Finds the ISP servers in your area and notes their mpbs rate so you can see who has the fastest service in that area. 10 to 50 mbps is good above 50 and you can get fiber optic.

The top three most used Real estate sites are 1) Zillow 2) Realtor.com, 3) Yahoo Real. Right now you can get 1&3 at a discount.

Active rain– is in the top 25 and considered the Facebook of Real Estate and their blog posts rate high.

Recommended on line advertising is Banner ads, upgrades on Realtor.com & Zillow and pay per click thru Google or Microsoft ad center.

I could go on to my other three pages of info but I recommend you go to the class. And- no, I wasn?t asked to pitch the class lol!!! For you Brokers, I would have Craig out to your office to put on a class.
