Oh Boy Oh Boy! It is gonna be 91 today. Sure makes it harder to play volleyball in this weather. Which is what is happening tonight. Thank god we don’t start till 5. I played in my first Tourney in 2 years a couple of weekends ago.

Remember that Friday of all the Tornadoes…Right 25 mile per hour winds makes competitive volleyball look like armature play.  I figure if the first one out the bat is that extreme the rest should go easier.

Below is a link to the quick video I did showing the beginning of the Tourney and the new Embassy Suites that was built across from Salt Life and beside the pier in St. Augustine Beach. It is a beautiful resort style hotel right on the beach.

These last two months have been spent working very closely with our new team, so I wanted to take this Brokers corner to introduce them to you. I’ll preface this with explaining that the old adage of your no stronger that the employees in your company is so true.

These last two years I have had a little bit of turnover in trying to find the right people. If you’re an employer you understand this means you’re doing triple duty during that time because you’re doing your job, and their job, and training on office systems new computer programs procedures etc.  

In case you haven’t heard……property management is not easy and it is certainly not for everyone. I had the joy of teaching a few bright individuals just to find months later that they really didn’t like the work. 

It takes a special person to handle the multitasking, problem solving and customer service that goes along with property management. To start with you must know how a home operates. You have to know about mechanical electrical, plumbing ac….. you see where I am going with this.

You not only have to know maintenance you have to know how to calm down tenants when their ac isn’t working and might not get fixed until the part comes in. Right after you break the bad news to the Owner that he needs a new compressor. All of this needs to be done with a smile on your face and in your voice or the bad service is quickly shouted out in social media. 

So now that I have set the stage let me tell you how over-joyed, I am to have Tianna Sousa taking over the Property Managers Position and Ashley Cooke, the Assistant Property Manager. These two gals worked together at Allison Ables property management before she closed her office.  

I have long respected Allison and we had talked of how talented her team was so, I was hoping to hear from them once Allison changed her direction to going back to her love of Sales. Both of these gals are already experienced in the software programs I use and are seasoned property managers. And they like it!!  

But the wow factor comes in with their desire to make our owners and tenants happy. Sometimes at all hours of the day and night. With cloud services I can see that they are working even past midnight sometimes (as am I….lol). Weekends, holidays- still handling emails. Now I wouldn’t want anyone to start expecting that, but It is rare that you find that kind of dedication and commitment to work. A strong work ethic is rare these days. 

I also want to tell you about my long-time friend and experienced Real Estate Broker Stephanie Anson who joined our office in the capacity of Marketing Director and also Real Estate Sales. Stephanie has a wealth of experience having started two Real Estate Brokerages of her own and being a SEO and digital marketing genius. She helped me rebuild our website the first of the year and we have been continuing to expand it and other programs each month. 

Stephanie absolutely loves staying on top of the ever-changing SEO best practices and how well each works (Search Engine Optimization – how people find you on the internet). For years she has advised me on some best practices and frankly a lot of the time it was over my head. 

I don’t know about you but sometimes I just get overloaded with the abundance of stuff you need to know these days to be found top and center of the almighty google search “Organically” (meaning I am not having to buy ads to get there). That doesn’t even scratch the surface of this gals’ talents. She also has a wealth of Real Estate Sales and training experience.

I will wrap this up by mentioning that the season is in full swing.  We are renewing leases and leasing properties right and left.
